Jerk or not? You be the rater and let them know. Always safe and anonymously.
If a rater chooses to offer their boss the option of seeing their anonymous ratings then we think the questions and how the employee responded can offer some insight to the boss so they may continue doing the positive things and stop doing things that make them famous being a jerk of a boss.
We're going to provide some potential statements that may appear on our site:
My boss sees themselves as part of a team.
My boss thinks their job is to whip a team into shape.
My boss does not put off having talks with employees about performance or behavior problems.
My boss dumps on people instead of properly delegating work.
My boss puts themselves above the team.
My boss understands the importance of fairness to all team members.
Raters will be asked to check a number between 5 and 1 that indicates agreement or not:
Our rating systems will be simple, intuitive, and provide a safe and anonymous way for an employee to rate their boss.
Thanks very much to Wally Bock at his Three-Star Leadership Blog for the post Don't Be A Jerk.
Guess who Wally was talking about?
